I was looking at spending one 2 nights and 1 day touring the isle of skye by car. Is this enough time or should I give it another day? any advice is helpful. Thanks!
I think it's worth another day (or two), particularly if you want to get of of the car and walk.
We were there July 2011 and did exactly as you are suggesting. We found it just right. Hopefully the weather iss in your favor when you are there as it was for us. It is avery rugged coastal road.
I'm coming down on the side of another day. Of course, it depends on what you want to see. Driving around Trotterish alone is a few hours. Do you want to leave time to see Dunvegan Castle? Do you want to get down to Legos and really see the Black Cuilins and maybe take a boat ride over to see Loch Coruisk? Do you want to see the stunning lighthouse at Niest Point? Do you want time to explore the local jewelry designer shops. Do you want to find the right view of the painted houses in Portree? Do you want to explore a broch? There's lots to see and do on Skye. And I've not even mentioned taking even a wee hike, which is one of the great things to do there. I spent a week on Skye at a photo workshop and still didn't get it all. I didn't get to tour Talliker and really regret that! Pam
I vote for at least 3 nights and 2 full days. If you have time, the isles of Harris and Lewis are accessible by ferry from Skye. We spent 2 days in the Outer Hebrides. it was a highlight of our trip
