How long in Copenhagen?

I'll be making a stop in Copenhagen in August as I fly from the States back to Eastern Europe, where I'm teaching English for two years. Considering jet lag and everything, how much can I expect to see in a day and a half (arriving Monday noon-ish, flying out Wednesday morning)? Hotel cost is my main factor for staying two nights and not three-can anyone recommend any good budget lodging for someone who's really not into the party scene found at some cheaper hostels? Thanks!

For budget hotels in Copenhagen check out Omena Hotels. I think the price is 399 DKK without breakfast. The rooms are small, but fine for 1-2 persons. The website is: http://www.omenahotels.com/en/hotels/hotel-copenhagen/ Its close to the central train station which you can take from the airport, but be aware that it is in what some may consider a little daunting, especially in the late evenings. But the area is much better than what it used to be and right off the main street, so it is not bad. If you plan well you can see a lot of Copenhagen in a day and a half.
