Taking tube at 9:30 AM, how long a ride is it from Holland Park to Victoria Station to catch the train to Dover, accounting for switching tube lines, also?
Also, is the train station connected, or do we have to walk outside to get to train station? Would anyone recommend taking taxi (4 persons/4 medium suitcases)to train station? And, does anyone know about how much that would cost? It's 4.5 miles. Thanks, Elaine
There's a sophisticated journey planner at London transport's website that will give you journey times at http://www.tfl.gov.uk . The train station is connected to the underground. Maybe a 25 minute journey from the time you arrive at the Holland Park underground platform.
I'd take a taxi or mini cab. It would not be worth the aggravation particularly if it is during the week with commuters. I'd venture a guess to be between £15-20.
Alternatively, you can take a bus 148 directly to Victoria for 30 mins or the tube with a change at Oxford Circus for 20 minutes.
The tube at Victoria is near to the station. Just follow the steps up. Dover usually departs from platforms 1-7 on the far left of the station on the South Eastern trains.
