How early does the Tube open/run from London to Heathrow ?

We have a 7:00 am(return to US) flight, need to be at the airport about 5:00am for check-in. Couldn't find info. on early Tube schedules on the Tube.com site.

Would anyone know how early the any Tube may from London to Heathrow ? (We'll likely be near the Goodge St station)

Thank you.

Nope...you won't find the tube running early enough for you.
There are several bus and bus/train combinations though. Check www.tfl.gov.uk (the London Transport site) and check advanced options under their "Journey Planner" on the right side of the page. You can enter locations, dates, and times, then view the various routes...at that hour, most seem to require at least two changes.
An option might be to consider spending your last night at a hotel nearer Heathrow. For that early a departure, that's what I'd do, for fear of a traffic accident or missed connection that would force me to miss my flight.

Oh, and double-check your airline about check-in times they suggest for Heathrow. I know Delta suggests 3 hours ahead of time for most of their foreign flights. Remember, too, Heathrow's a BIG airport.

We had an 8AM flight from Heathrow home to US in 2007 & wanted to be there by 6AM. If I recall correctly, the first tube connection we could grab was at about 6:10, getting us there at 6:40 or something like that. We decided to have our hotel call a cab service the night before for a 5:30 pick-up. It worked well, but wasn't cheap. I think it was 50pounds, which at the time was a cool $100.

I think that will be your most reliable option. You don't want to miss your flight.

Assuming you can get to Paddington Station the Heathrow Express' earliest train leaves at 5:10 am with about a 15 minute ride to terminals 1-4. You can also check-in at Paddington Station for your flights.

Hello,

Thank you for your replies. (We fly out early am on Sat.,July 3rd)
I'll check the Tube transport site and determine whether to stay the last night near Heathrow.

Cheers,

If you decide that you want to stay close to the airport, I would suggest staying in Windsor. You could go out to Windsor early afternoon tour the castle, visit Eton (5 minute walk) and walk down to Windsor Great Park. Arrange a cab for morning pickup, its a 15 minute cab ride to the airport from Windsor.

If you decide to stay near Heathrow, the Jurys Inn would work well for you. It's located right by the Hatton Cross Underground station. Bus 285 runs 24/7 between Hatton Cross and Heathrow and for that short trip the ride is free.
