i am looking at the tripadvisor site for hotel recommendations. redesdale hotel in moreton, number 4 at stow, and apsley house hotel in bath. i can't seem to get this info via tripadvisor. thanks
If they do not have a website for the hotels you mention you will need to call them by phone.Get an international calling card ($10 is enuf)and it should be plenty for 3 separate calls.
All hotels (not nec. BB's) will automatically have TVs in the rooms in Britain, unless you are on some far flung Hebridean island. I don't think you'll find many with air conditioning as frankly you wont need it. If it is too hot to sleep you'll be thanking your lucky stars it's not raining. Seriously, I am a Brit and have never needed air conditioning in Britian.
Shoni is right, you won't need air conditioning in England. We have never had to have ac during any of our trips to the UK and some of our trips were during the summer. Even during the summer you might need a sweater during the day at times.
Well, Shoni is right that usually you need heat, not AC in England. I have been in London on a 4th of July that felt like a Washington December. Usually it is grey, drizzling and chilly. BUT not always. There have been several summer heat waves in the last decade or so, and a hot hotel room is no fun. That said, I can't imagine that a fall trip would run any risk whatever of needing AC.
London can get quite humid at temperatures we dont think are very hot. I have been in many hotels where I would have killed for A/C or at least a fan. Many many dont have A/c; but you may need a fan
