Can suggestions on good hotels for the night we arrive in London and the night before we leave to head home?

This page has a list of Heathrow hotels with links to detailed information on each one. However, unless you will arrive at Heathrow really late in the evening, I'll encourage you to go into London and stay there. And unless your flight home leaves really early in the morning, spend your last night in London.

If you have a particularly late arrival or early departure, check out the Yotel inside the airport. We stayed at the one in Gatwick and it was kinda fun. Something unique, but it sure was nice to get up in the morning for our flight and already be AT the airport. http://www.yotel.com/

The hotels reached by the Hotel Hoppa are convenient. We have stayed at renaissance and Sheraton when our flights were early or late

I think we stayed at the Sheraton as well for one of the trips - we had to be at airport for 10:30am flight, so any hotel with an airport shuttle is a +...I do believe we were happy with the price and the room...

There are several hotels along the ring road folks have mentioned the Sheraton, for example. FYI, the Hoppa bus is at cost. There is also an option to take the city bus, which is free along that stretch of road, to/from Heathrow. It is very convenient and reliable.

Google Heathrow hotels or go to www.londontoolkit.com and you will find a list of hotels, some near the terminals and some serviced by a shuttle bus. Find out at which terminal you will arrive and depart, probably not the same one, and decide on a hotel then. We are staying at Jury's Inn for our departure back to the US from terminal #3. Heathrow hotels are all reviewed on tripadvisor.com, London forum.

Any s for this thread? I'll be arriving at 10:45 pm. Who knows what time I'll clear customs etc. At that point, I'll just want to sleep. I'm a 60-year-old adventurous woman travelling alone. Still, at midnight I'm going to be a very tired person and won't want to cope with much fiddling. The Yotel or easyHotel or other close hotels sound great but what about transportation to them at that time of night? Does the Hotel Hoppa run all night? Even getting from Terminal 3 to Terminal 4 for the Yotel???
