Hotels near Eurostar St Pancras station in London

Any suggestions? We will be arriving by taxi due to age and luggage, spending one night, training to Paris, then two weeks later return for four nights in the same area near the station. We like a moderate hotel with some charm.

The Travelodge chain, Ibis chain, and Premier Inn chain have hotels close by Euston. Since these are chain hotels, their "charm" may be limited.

The Harrison, The Premiere Inn or check out the airbnb website. This example is not right next door but one tube stop ride away. http://www.airbnb.com/rooms/81305 I'm a great fan of the website since I found two stellar places for my visit in May of 2011 on airbnb. Stayed pre and post the RS 7 Day tour of Istanbul. Both hosts were fabulous. Both places more than met my needs. In fact one was so great if it's available on my next visit to London it's where I'll stay. If not available I know I'll find another accommodation via the website.

Hi Dorothy, if not moderate, then Hilton has a hotel nearby Kings Cross/St. Pancras, the Hilton London Euston Hotel. If you can find a good bargain here, which happens occasionally, perhaps an option? Happy travel!

Dorothy the Alhambra Hotel has been my go-to place for over a decade...small family run and a 3 min walk to St Pancras

I'm glad Larson recommended the Alhambra Hotel. I read a glowing review of it in my Lonely Planet London guidebook, but I had forgotten its exact location.

Glad I found this thread, just the information I was looking for. My mom and I have decided to take a quick overnight visit to London during our trip to Paris. I wanted a place close to the station to save time and found a twin ensuite at the Alhambra for 99 pounds.

Consider the Jesmond Hotel--close to St. Pancras, closer to British Museum, room is smallish but okay, and a fine breakfast is included.

This is not a moderate hotel suggestion, but maybe for a splurge for one night? Marriott has just reopened the St. Pancras Hotel after a massive renovation. This is the old Victorian railway hotel and apparently it is an amazing reno. job. Even if you don't stay maybe pop in for a drink just to have a look at one of London's historic railway hotels.

The area around St. Pancras station is not very attractive. Bloomsbury is only a mile or so away. From there, it's an easy walk to the Trafalgar area and the theatre district. We really enjoyed staying at the Morgan Hotel in that neighborhood.
