I just read in Rick's column that all hotels are now non smoking. Does that mean public areas or are all rooms in all hotels in both countrys without any smoking rooms.

It is my understanding that all the rooms are non smoking. You will find the same in the pubs where the smokers just take their drinks outside. Restaurants are the same.
