Hotels in London and Stockholm

Prior to a Scandinavian Cruise I am spending 5 nights in London.
Following the cruise I am spending 2 nights in Stockholm.
Any recommendations on hotels that are in good areas and reasonably priced?

It depends..... We need a bit more info. What do YOU consider reasonable and what are your needs/desires? In London (I've only been to Stockholm once and that was on a group tour) you can get anything from hostel type accomodations with dorms and a shared bathroom down the hall to 5 star with all the amenities- all in about the same neighborhoods. Personally, my husband and I "treat" ourselves in London. We like either the Mountbaten in Covent Garden (delux 5 star for special occassions) or the Victoria Thistle (Grosovenor) in Victoria Station (3-4 star) which is very convient to the Tube, trains, etc. Neither is "budget". Both areas are great. Lots of people on this board like the Victoria/Belgravia area and recommend the Limetree and other small, more budget hotels. Give us more info and well make LOTS of suggesstions. London is very easy to get around so location is not as vital as some other places.

Thank you for your info Toni.
I feel we are too old to do the hostel idea (my daughter did it with a friend) right after college graduation in the late '90s, and even she said that every 4 or 5 nights they needed a "real" hotel.
The Victoria Thistle sounds more like what we are looking for.
Back in 1994 I stayed in a Thistle in that area and it was fine. We definitely want a bathroom in our sleep room.
Our trip is not until mid August 2010, so I just started looking for places to stay.
I have been reading all of the postings related to hotels from other people who asked similar question.
I also have a copy of Rick Steves' books on Scandinavia and London.

Let's see...the OP says he already owns the RS London book and then the next person suggestedhe get a copy. ???

Roger....when you do decide on a hotel or two, don't rely strictly on the guidebook. Go over to tripadvisor.com for unbiased reviews.
