Hotels in Dublin

We are going to dublin MArch 16-18 and than going to western Ireland. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to stay in Dublin? We are in our late 20's and we will be honeymooners. We are hoping to spend around a $100 a night but could pay up to $150.00. Suggestions would be great!

I don't know where you want to stay, but if you go onto the following websites www.expedia.com, www.hotels.com, or www.orbitz.com, they have a lot of cheap stuff listed on those sites that are big brand hotels. then go to www.retailmenot.com and punch in those same websites and they will pull up a bunch of discount codes that you can use to get you even more money off. I just booked 3 night 6-9 of march at the conrad (hilton) top 20 of 200 plus from tripadvisor for 406 bucks that includes all taxes and breakfast. Don't know if this will help, but hope it does.

When we toured Ireland a few years ago, our director told us that he chose Limerick to stay in because costs were much cheaper than Dublin. We did our day trips out to the West coast from there; it is much closer to the coast and only a few miles from Shannon.

Emily,

You might have a look at the Harding Hotel. It's in a good location in Dublin - directly across from a large Cathedral, easy walking distance to the Temple Bar area and other attractions, reasonably close to ATM's and has both a restaurant and bar.

It can be a bit noisy in the evenings due to the music from the Bar, but I only found that to be a minor annoyance.

Congratulations and happy travels!

I'm going on a RS Ireland tour and the first and last hotel in Dublin is the Harding. It has a great central location.

My wife and I stayed at Ophira House in Dun Laoghaire. It's a nice little town on the coast just south of Dublin. It's a quick 15 minute train ride into the center of Dublin. We paid 70 euros (about $105 then) total per night in late May; you might do a bit better in March.

Audrey, I'm sure you'll enjoy the Ireland tour. It's a lot of fun!

Do you know yet who your Guide will be?

Happy travels!
