hotel near london-heathrow airport

I'm traveling home to the US with a 15 hour lay over in London-Heathrow. So, looking for a safe, clean, and reasonably priced hotel near the airport. Thanks,
Andrea

If you don't want to spring for the Sofitel at Terminal 5 or the Hilton at Terminal 4, there's a whole host of hotels in the Bath Road just outside Heathrow, accessible for a few ££ via the Hoppa bus or via a free public bus. The following page has all the details, including a cool map at the bottom that shows the many options by number. I'm sure you would find reviews for each of them on Trip Advisor. http://www.londontoolkit.com/travel/heathrow_hotels.htm

I stayed at the Heathrow Ibis in May. It is close to the airport and relatively inexpensive. The Hoppa Bus makes frequent stops to/from the airport. Breakfast is not included.

The question in my mind is what terminal is the departure from.

If you are going to/from Terminal 5 I highly recommend the Premier Inn Terminal 5. It's covered by the free local bus number 423 from Stop #6 outside the terminal (second stop, takes about 5 minutes), it's clean, reasonably priced and has a pretty nice restaurant.

I just booked the Premier Inn Terminal 5 myself, after exploring the host of available options. I booked through Hotels.com, which offered a 13% discount using the code "summer13". My standard double room was $58.60, which was a great deal for the area. I am coming into T3, but will take the shuttle to T5, then catch the free public bus to my hotel.

Nancy,
You can also take public bus #75 or #76 from the Central Bus Station. We did that a few weeks ago and it was easy. It drops you behind the hotel, but it's an easy walk from the bus stop. You will stop just past the hotel, so when you see it coming up, hit the STOP REQUEST button! It's a blue bus, not the red. But it's still free; just a different public bus. http://www.londontoolkit.com/lhr/heathrow_local_buses.htm It may save you a bit of time and trouble? I think the bus comes every 10-15 minutes.

You can rent a room at the Yotel at Heathrow which would save you having to spend money for transportion to leave the airport. We stayed at the Jurys Inn-Heathrow. Weekend nights are very inexpensive, and we really liked the hotel. Very basic, super clean and amazingly quiet (even under the LHR flight path).
