Flying from west coast of US to Venice with a layover night in London. Any recommendations for a hotel near Heathrow? Arrive at 2:30 p.m. with a next morning departure at 8:00 a.m., so I am not looking for a luxury hotel but something that is safe, convenient to get to using either a quick taxi or public transportation (if super easy). Suggestions? Thank you.

Thanks. Did not even know of the Heathrow Hopper and not sure what terminal British Airways flies into from the States. Will investigate--thanks for pointing out these ideas. SuzieeQQ
I recommend the Hilton connected to Terminal 5. I know you said you were not looking for a luxury hotel, and I do not consider this one to be luxury. It is not dirt cheap in price, but if you keep checking their website, you can get a decent price. Can't beat the convenience.
The Premier Inn at 15 Bath Road near Heathrow is where I will be staying soon, I was able to get a good price too.
We too stay at The Ibis...have stayed there 8 times...all the Hoppa buses go there it seems, definately from T3. It is basic with small rooms and inexpensive... plus I KNOW it has my favorite ale on tap...so no need to search elsewhere!!! The main reason I won't change places! will book there twice next fall...all for the ale!
Ba flights from the US come into T5, if that helps.
BA codeshare flights that are operated by American however come in at Terminal 3.
