Hotel in Wales, Try or Not?

Budget hotels, etc, are going quick in Holyhead and Anglesey area for July...one hotel had nice photos and emailed us that our total price would be 50 BP. 1. Is that too good to be true for an adult and 2 little kids near Holyhead ferry port? 2. Only TripAdvisor had reviews, all 5 terrible, I am a little leary of two reviews being similar (maybe done by two guys from same group?) I am reluctant right now to mention the hotel in case the TA Reviews are fake. Hotel photos can also be faked though. Should we stay or run?

Holyhead gets clobbered with people that are going to catch the ferry the next day - - there's nothing else there to speak of. Fifty sterling seems okay, the economy is in the tank. My choice would be to stay at either Bangor or Caernarfon and drive out for the mid-mornig ferry. If you're using public transportation, Bangor would probably be easier. You won't get much more help unless you fess up the name of the hotel. I probably haven't stayed there, but I can maybe tell you if it exists.

We spent a night in Holyhead because of needing to catch a ferry at 8 am. It is not exactly a charming place and I would be cautious as to the location of the hotel/inn. The main road into HH is very busy and there is a ton of traffic (trucks) headed to the docks/ferries. We stayed in a B&B that was the worst place we have ever spent a night-drab,dreary, door would not lock, and trucks roared past our window all night-the road was no more than four feet from the window. We arrived wo any reservation and this was the only option. I really doubt if you will find anything near the ferries that will appeal especially with the small children.

Thank you Ed and Susan. Between the two of you, I've decided to turn the hotel down. The neighborhood sounds like a bad memory of a previous trip to Galveston. I wish Rosslare had a mid-afternoon ferry departure, I'd switch ports. We had hoped to see Wales top to bottom on our way to Swansea. Good budget hotels are sold out up north along public transport lines that weekend and whether we take the bus straight to Swansea from Holyhead or the Rosslare ferry to Pembroke for the night, there isn't an arrival time until midnight. Thanks again. I'll let you know how it turns out.
