My cruise ends early on Sunday, May 3rd in Southampton. I plan on staying there 1 night, then flying home from Heathrow the next day. I already have my bus ticket from Southampton to Heathrow for Monday and I will be traveling alone. I need info on where to stay in Southampton, what to do with my luggage and seeing as much as possible in one day. Suggestions???

Most of the ones that are near the cruise terminals are also within 5 minutes walk of a regional shopping centre and beyond that the town centre.

There are tons of hotels in Southampton, including all the usual suspects, such as Novotel, Ibis and Holiday Inn. Just google "hotels in southampton uk" and you'll see the list. There is a tourist information office in town at 8 Road Civic Centre Road. If you will be staying in the city overnight and you have booked a hotel, your hotel will look after your luggage until it is check-in time, and show you how to get to the Tourist Office. BTW, S'hampton has a nice little art gallery.
