Researching London hotels & this one looks very nice. Does anyone have any experience with this hotel and also since we've never been to London, is this a good area to stay in? I know the tube is very close by but are there any pubs or attractions nearby? Thanks!
Hi, Diana. I haven't stayed at the Elizabeth, but have stayed several times at hotels very close by. It's a good location, though Bayswater Road can be noisy at night, but I don't think that will be much of an issue at the Elizabeth. The Tube is steps away, as are Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. There are a pub and small shop around the corner on Bayswater Road (opposite direction from the Tube), and there are other restaurants and convenience shops about a five-minute walk away in the vicinity of Paddington Station. The Queensway area is also within walking distance, or a quick Tube ride. If you have a nice day weather-wise, you can take a pleasant walk across Hyde Park to the Kensington museums. And, of course, the Central Line (which runs through Lancaster Gate) will take you to the heart of London. Have fun!
