Anyone have any experiences with hostels in either of these two towns?

I stayed at the Grapevine Hostel in Dingle for 8 nights and had a great time. Siobhan is super friendly and a lot of fun. In Galway I stayed at the Sleepzone Galway. There is nothing wrong with it - it was clean, great rooms, free internet, etc, but it is so big (more like a hotel) that I found it hard to meet people so it would depend on your travel situation.

I haven't stayed at either of these hostels but I wanted to pass on information on the Milestone Bed & Breakfast in Dingle.

I stayed traveled through Europe a few years ago and stayed in quite a few bed and breakfast's and this was hands down my favorite. The place is a little out of town but don't let that detour you. Michael met me at the bus station to pick me up and then he and Barbara welcomed me into their parlor and served me tea and two kinds of soda bread hot out of the oven. And it was amazing soda bread! They told me some of the legends of the town like the sleeping giant and about the standing stone in their yard. I was a girl in my 20's traveling by myself and Michael and Barbara kindly introduced me to another couple that arrived the same day and arranged for us to go on a fascinating car tour around Dingle. Breakfast was the full Irish breakfast but unlike some of the places I stayed, it wasn't heavy, just extremely delicious. The homemade soda bread was served with scrambled eggs and smoked salmon presented beautifully with fresh herbs scattered around it. The whole experience was lovely. Their prices are very reasonable and I can't recommend this b&b high enough!
