hiking weather in England in April

planning to hike along the coast of Cornwall and then the Cotswold Way starting April 1st 2011. Weather wise is this advisable???

Also if anyone knows about Easter Holidays in England~ is before or after Easter less complicated with school holidays etc . Thanks, BK

Impossible to tell weather at that time of year this far in advance. Could be pleasantly warm and sunny, could be very cold and windy with torrential rain. Unfortunately if you hike in England at any time of year you risk getting bad weather.

Easter holiday dates vary slightly from school authority to school authority but are generally one week each side of the Easter weekend. Next year Easter is quite late - 22nd-25th April.

Hi you might want to have a look at the sherpavan forum too.It is for LDP (long distance paths)
We are currently having one of the driest Aprils ever, in 300 years of records
That said it often snows the first week in april in northern england, lambing snows. But the sun is warm and the days long now, so it tends to melt within a day.It a great time of year to be out on the trail
If you are bnb-ing, Bank holidays are very busy so prebbook esp.the early one in the year as seems like everyone heads out after winter.
