hiking in Connemara National Park

Has anyone hiked in the Connemara National Park? Are there trails that are marked or guided hikes? Can you see the Connemara ponies? Thanks!

yes, we were there three weeks ago, but only took one of the shorter hikes as we were traveling between Westport and Doolin that day; but it was a nice hike and I took some great pictures. We didn't see any ponies, but did see where they keep some of them.

I don't know about guided hikes, but the trails are marked and you have choices based on the difficulty of the hike you want to take. The longest one takes most of a day to reach the top, then hike back down - we just didn't have that time, so we took one that was around two miles - it was a very nice trail.

Connemara ponies can be found on the Aran Islands; which are part of Co Galway. I got some wonderful shots of the Connemara ponies.
