I am trying to plan a trip to Sweden in the first week of October. My problem is the price of parking and such for hotels. Can anyone reccommend a nice hotel that has relatively cheap parking. I also need to have one bed (full size or larger).
I guess I should add that I plan to be in Stockholm other then random driving exhibitions. I have never been out of the country and plan to go to a hockey game at Globe Arena while I'm there(which is the basis of the trip)
I've been to Sweden but not with a car so can't answer this question directly. But if no one comes up with better advice (though I'm sure someone will), I suggest doing an internet search for hotels in Stockholm and other places you plan to visit, and then contact the hotels that interest you (and/or visit their websites) and ask about parking and bed sizes (you shouldn't have trouble finding a bed that is at least a double-size).
I drove through Sweden, Norway, and Denmark several years ago. Finding parking near a hotel is same as you find here.
Sometimes it is easy and other times you may have to walk a block if your hotel doesn't have a parking garage.
In Stockholm our Formule1 motel had a parking lot.
How nice was the Motel? The one I looked at was Grand Hotel and and parking in their garage is $60/night which to me is absurd. Yes $60 not $60SEK
I also thought about the Sheraton but wasn't sure about parking. I think it was like $50/night.
You may want to look at the Connect Hotel. We stayed there when in Stockholm. It was about a 5-10 minute train ride from the central train station on their local commuter trains that were running all the time.
The benefit would be it is just a little bit out of stockholm centre making parking costs and availability more desirable/likely
