My wife and I are heading to London. We are staying in Piccadilly (Piccadilly Tube stop). I checked the London Tube interactive map for directions to the Wimbledon tennis stadium and wanted to make sure I got it right. It tells me to take the tube to Earl's Court and switch to the green District line toward Wimbledon and then get off at Southfields station. Trip time of 30minutes. Does this sound correct? Sorry, but this is my first time in London. I am originally from NY city, so I'm used to public transportation. Also, will the Oyster card work for the District line or do I need a separate ticket? Thanks for the help!
Yes, from Piccadilly take the Piccadilly Line to Earl's Court tube station (4th stop) then take the District Line to Wimbledon Station which is the 8th stop from Earl's Court (I would go to Wimbledon Station instead of getting off at Southfields.)
Yes, your Oyster will work.
The Oyster card works for the entire tube system, no matter what line you ride.
Thanks for your posts!
