Help required!! - Daytrip to Conwy

Hi all! I will be traveling soon to Ireland and UK and I have some doubts about making a quick stop in Conwy to see the castle.

I have been visiting the ferries and train sites and this is what I am thinking to do:

May 22, 2009 8:45 ferry from Dublin to Holyhead. This arrives at 10:45. At 11:23 there is a train to Conwy that arrives there at 12:30. Since the castle is open until 5:00 pm I am thinking to take a train to London that same day at 19:20.

My biggest doubt is that if I will have enough time to follow this itinerary and how far is Conwy Castle from the train station.

Please, any kind of help will be more than useful!!

Regards from Chile :)

Hi Claudia,
Do you have a special reason to go to Conwy other than just to see the Castle?
Have you been to London before? If not, I'd skip Conwy castle and tour the Tower of London and see the other sights of London.
My husband and I went to Conwy Castle last June. It was a day trip from where we were staying in Wales. It was fun to climb around but not much else to see. If you haven't been to London before I'd save your time and see more of London. If you were driving it would be different as you'd see other sights and scenery to your destination.
This is just my opinion. I love castles and mansions but I needed more time in London than the 4-1/2 days we had.

I lived close to Conwy for many years. It is a charming little place and the castle is very interesting. In my opinion it would be worth a short break in your journey. You should also visit the quay and the town walls. The station is within easy walking distance from the castle and everything else in the small town, but I am not sure where you could leave cases while exploring the castle. The site travelconwy.org.uk may provide more information.

I am going over to the Conwy area next week for ten days. If you have any further questions let me know and I will try to find answers.

I don't know about your timing and luggage storage; however, when we were at Conwy a few years ago, we loved it! There was a volunteer guide at the castle (very knowledgeable) who took us on a tour and knew everything about the history. Not sure if he's still there, but he made it wonderful.
