Help! Need to solidify my 10 day itinerary in June

I've never traveled to Ireland. My husband and I are traveling from Dublin to Shannon in June with another couple. I'm reading Rick's Ireland book and am reading these message boards, but am still looking for some direction. I love/prefer word of mouth recommendations. I do trust the book, it's just not cut and dry for anyone traveling less than 23 days. There are so many choices and I want to get the best out of our trip. This is what I'm thinking so far based on SOME research: Night 1- Dublin- Has anyone stayed in Trinity Lodge? Is there a better place to stay? Should we get a car at the airport or wait until we leave Dublin? Also, I'm wondering if we should stay in Wicklow the second night (don't want to waste a day however) after Dublin and then go to Kilkenney ; (context- there's an Inn in Wicklow that was the home of Robert Halpin (my married name)- relatives recommended staying there) 2-Kilkenney 3-Kinsale 4- Kenmare or should I stay in Kilarney? 5-6 Dingle 7-Doolin? Are there better recommendations near the Cliffs of Moher?
9 Stay somewhere near Shannon- should I bother with Bunratty ?leave the next morning If anyone has a minute, any feedback would be so appreciated. I'm concerned about making the best of the end of our trip from Kinsale forward. I'm not sure where to go or lodge specifically. THANK YOU in advance for any help you can provide. Heather

A couple of comments at first glance: Wicklow is only an hour or so outside of Dublin so yes, it would be a waste of a day to stop for the night there. I am also not a Kilkenny fan, though many people really like it. It's difficult to drive in because of the narrow streets and parking can be a problem. If it were me, I'd head toward Cashel and Cahir instead. Kenmare is preferable to Killarney, unless you really like touristy areas. I would suggest staying near Bunratty on the night before your flight leaves. It's only six miles to the airport, and there are a couple of food options and lots of B&Bs along the Bunratty Road to choose from. We liked Bunratty Castle and Folk Park.
