We will be flying in to heathrow & out of Stansted 2 days later. We were thinking of staying at hotels near both airports. Ym problem is what will we do with our luggage after we check out of Heathrow hotel while we are touring central London before we check in to Stansted hotel. How feasable would it be to travel from Heathrow hotel to Stansted, drop off luggage & then travel back to central London for the day. We were thinking of doing the hop on hop off bus for the day but i don't think we want to keep all of our lugage with us all day!! Any suggestions? By the way, this is a family with 2 boys (ages 7 & 10). Thank you!!

1 more thing... I have heard about the "left luggage" service at the train stations. Would it work to take the tube from the hotel & then find a train station and leave the luggage there? Like I said before, we will be doing the hop on hop off bus, so we would need a train station near one of those areas!

You can store your luggage at Charing Cross, Euston, King's Cross, Liverpool Street, Paddington, Victoria, and Waterloo stations.
If you don't arrive at Heathrow super late and your plane doesn't leave super early from Stansted, I suggest you stay in central London both nights.
Definitely do NOT go to Stansted ahead of time and return to London. That would cost you dearly in both time and money. Stansted is a long way from London.

Yes, I'd avoid going out to Stansted and back. It's a good hour and a quarter by bus from Heathrow, and a roundtrip ticket is about 26 pounds.
