I will be using a BritRail pass to travel from London/Paddington Station on the Heathrow Express to the airport. I understand that the pass covers the Express ticket cost. However, do I need to use the Rail pass at the Express office at Paddington to get a specific Heathrow Express ticket or do I use the Rail Pass like I do on other train rides and just get on the Express, enter the date on the rail pass, & show it to the conductor? Also how do you tell it's the Heathrow Express train from other trains especially the Heathrow Connect? Is the name painted on the train or on a specific track? Thanks, Fran
Fran, you use the pass just like you do for any other train, just show up and get on. Just remember that going from Paddington to Heathrow will count as a day of travel. Also, you won't have any trouble determining which train is the Heathrow Connect - everything is clearly marked.
Thanks Mary
Fran if you use Google and type in Heathrow Express OR Heathrow Connect a page comes up with all sorts of info. Here's a GREAT way to see pictures of both trains. Above the Google search box you'll see a header in black with +You Search Images Maps YouTube News Mail Documents Calendar. Click on Images. More photos of The Express or Connect trains then you could imagine. The route in the Terminal to get either train is VERY well marked. Great city.
Have fun.
