I want to amend my question to note that by carrying aboard the departing aircraft, I mean carrying on board into the cabin, not in checked luggage where alcoholic beverage bottles are likely to be either stolen or broken.

Either the vendor will deliver it to the gate or you will carry it yourself. You will take it into the aircraft. It will travel in the cabin.
