Heathrow Airport to Victoria Station

If we are unable to get a ride from the airport to the Victoria Station, we are looking to possibly go by tube.

Our plane arrives in Heathrow at 10am. We are trying to figure out what time to get our Non-refundable Cheap Coach tickets from Vic Station to Bath Spa.

We need to figure in getting suitcase, going through customs, etc. Then getting from Heathrow to Victoria.

Any suggestions?

Heathrow to Paddington by Tube will take about 40-45 min. Then another 20 min. or so to Victoria Station. You could probably get a better time estimate and routing by using "journey planner" for the Tube. I'd allow AT LEAST 1 1/2 hours for passport and luggage at Heathrow. It will just depend on how many other planes have landed at the same time as yours. That means that you should not plan to catch a bus before 1 or 2:00pm (13:00-14:00 since they use 24 hur militray time) at best. Better to have to eat lunch at Victoria to kill time than miss your bus.

Thanks.

I am going to be booking a 2:30pm coach from Victoria Station. That should give us more than enough time.

Do you know if we have a 10pm flight was meals would be served. A late dinner and a breakfast or just breakfast?

Leila...you have numerous options to get to Bath:

1) Take the tube to Victoria TRAIN station and walk a few blocks to Victoria COACH station. The tube will include one change and cost 4 GBP

2) Take the coach from Heathrow direct to the Victoria COACH station for 4.40 GBP

3) Take the train from Heathrow to Bath without going into London. (London is east of Heathrow, Bath is west.) Prices vary depending on day and how far in advance you buy the tickets.

Check with your airline to see what food is served.

Frank II thanks. I already booked the ticket for Victoria Coach Station. Thank you for stating the differance. I assumed they used the same station for both. Should've known. I was able to get tickets for 8pds. Which is a great bargain.

So we will probably use option 1) or 2)

Just adding that it was easy to take the tube from Heathrow to Victoria Tube Station, and I was by myself (on my way to the hotel for RS London in 7 Days tour) and found nothing stressful about it at all. Have fun! :)

You don't say what day of the week you are travelling or when your coach leaves Victoria. Some of the coaches going from Victoria to Bath stop at Heathrow as it is on the way. If your particular ticket routes you through Bristol then I don't think it stops at the airport. Go to www.nationalespress.com to see if your coach stops at Heathrow. If you can pick up your tickets at any National Express office then it would be best to get them at the Heathrow office at the central bus station (terminal 2) and get on the coach there. Best of luck.....Gary

If you want to go from Heathrow Airport to Bath by coach, then there are direct services which are a lot quicker than going via Victoria coach station. They can be found on the National Express web site.

There is a coach (bus) station at Heathrow. Follow signs for a long walk directly to the station. It's cheaper to buy tix in advance, but they can be bought on-the-spot also. Some buses to Bath fill up and you may need to wait for the next one.

FUNFARES, at only a few pounds, are available online when you make your reservation early. I've reserved a roundtrip London-Bath from Victoria St. for 10 GBP. I like the train better, and it's faster, but I'm on a tight budget this time and thought I'd try the coach. I reserved my tix a couple of months ago.

From Heathrow it takes about 2 1/2 hours; from Victoria the coach takes 3 hours. The train from Paddington takes about 1 1/2 hours. I think a new coach station is being built, but last time I was there the temporary coach station was a few blocks from the old coach station.

Most of the Victoria to Bath buses pickup at Heathrow on their way, you do not need to go into London!

According to the National Express Web site, the 14:30 coach from London Victoria to Bath Spa goes via Heathrow. It is scheduled to leave the Heathrow central bus station at 15:15.

I suggest that you call National Express to make sure you won't lose your seat if you wait and board the coach at Heathrow. Or if you want to save the cost of an international phone call, go to the central bus station ASAP after you arrive at Heathrow and make whatever arrangements are necessary.

If your flight arrives at 10 a.m. there is a National Express bus from Heathrow to Bath Spa at 11:45 and 13:15.

However if you've purchased tickets already from Victoria simply get the London Underground to Victoria changing at Hammersmith, fare is 4 GBP,
The National Express Coach Station is 5/10 minutes walk from the rail/underground at Victoria.
Allowing 60 minutes getting through customs/baggae allow another 75 to get to Victoria by Underground.

You can get National Express buses direct from Heathrow to Victoria Coach Station, these cost 5 GBP.
However, the coach station at Heathrow is miles from Terminals 4 and 5, but OK for Terminals 1,2,3.
From Terminals 4 and 5 you have to get a train to the Central area (free) that run every 15 minutes.

Thanks Bob and Tim. I am going to try the suggestion of seeing if we can catch the coach that is leaving Victoria Station and passing thru Heathrow. So after we go thru customs, etc. We are going to head to the Central Bus Station.

Thanks a bunch guys!
