I have a 5 hour lay over at Heathrow Airport following an overnight flight from the US. Is there a hotel connected to or near the airport to relax before continuing on to Dublin?
Do you really want to spend money for a hotel with only 5 hours, especially when the 5 hours will dwindle way down when you take into consideration the time to disembark and go through passport control, and then get to the gate for the ongoing flight Is the flight to Dublin even from the same terminal?
Hmm, Heathrow is so large, you could spend the time shopping, eating or relaxing with a book at a cafe in the airport...no need for a hotel
Check out Yotel London Heathrow. They have rates by the hour and you can even get a shower in if you need. http://www.yotel.com/ Jessica
We stayed at the Yotel in Heathrow. Good experience. It's right in the airport. Rooms are rented by the hour. See R.S. "England" guidebook for details.
The Yotel has a 4 hour minimum stay. I think that you will wind up with maybe 2-3 hours max between flights. Are you eligible to use any airline lounges? If so, that's what I'd reccommend. If not, you can sometimes purchase day passes rather cheaply. That would be much cheaper than a hotel room and many (most?) lounges offer free sodas and snacks.
