i would like to get a picture of it, but know it isn't open to the public. think i read that there was a spot on loch loggan where you could see it and get a picture across the loch, but not sure how to go about finding that spot? - julie

Yes, you can get a good shot from a couple of spots across the Loch from the house. You can also see the gatehouse really well. Unfortnately, I can't give you directions as we had friends from Drumnadrochit who took us for a Sunday drive and were willing to stop beacuse they knew we were such fans of Monarch of the Glen. You might also enjoy taking the steam train from Aviemore. It goes all the way to the station that "stood in" for Glenbogle's station- they even left up the sign!!!! You can get off and take pictures with the sign.
