Bolhays on Wyndham Road...I found it on both the Karen Brown site and Alistair Sawday site, but nothing on TripAdvisor (or RS). Is their location inconvenient to the train station and cathedral? Thanks!
I think it looks a good location according to the map on their website: http://www.bolhays.com/howtofindus.html
I haven't used the train station so I am not sure if that is within walking distance, but everything else is. It's a pretty small place.
It looks a lovely place, I might consider it next time I visit!
I am not familiar with that one, but my daughter and I will be staying in Sals. for 2 nights in July, and after researching B&Bs in depth, I would recommend Webster's or Wyndham Park Lodge. They both get VERY high ratings on Trip Advisor and both owners were prompt and thorough in answering all of my email inquiries.
I haven't stayed there, it's an old Victorian townhouse and it's close to the center of town. I would stay there.
Char have you used Google maps? If you have the address of the B&B you can see exactly where it is located. Use the satellite image. Nice way to find out what's close and in the neighborhood. Karen Brown's properties are generally excellent.
Thanks for all of your input. I vacillate between Bolhays and one of Rick's favorites (Spire House and Cathedral View) simply because we'll arrive and depart by train, also use the train to go back and forth to Portsmouth, and focus on the cathedral in Salisbury. Looking at the map, it seems Bolhays is slightly out of the way, but I love the look of it albeit just 2 rooms.
If you are looking for a B & B to view the Cathedral - Sarum College in the Cathedral Close has rooms on a B & B basis and some rooms overlook the Cathedral + its in easy walk of the station. Their website address is www.sarum.ac.uk/
