Harry Potter studios?

Read about the Harry Potter studio tour near London. Thinking of going to London over the Christmas holiday break and wondering if anyone had been to it? I know not a ride like Universal. (been there this year) and we did see a traveling museum exhibit a few years ago in our home town. Is it worth a day of our trip? A tween and a teen who are Potter fans will be with us. Thank you for your help.

Have a search on this board by keyword. Several months ago there was quite a flurry of reports. I frequently run into people who have been. I haven't heard a bad report yet, although some during the Olympics complained that the attraction was quite crowded then.

I went in April and it was wonderful! We were on the last tour of the day, I believe it was the 3 or 3:30 and it wasn't horribly crowded. It is a walk through exhibit of all the sets/costumes/etc. so you can take it at any pace. They say plan to spend around 3 hours and it took the whole time for me and my traveling partner (there is so much!) I highly recommend it!! I'm a huge Harry Potter fan and it was so great to see and hear the stories behind everything. Enjoy :)

It was my favorite part of my trip. I was there for 3 hours and I could have stayed for 3 more!! Well worth the time and money.

I was there a few weeks ago too. Spent around 3-4 hours there, and it was well worth it. Bring a camera and extra batteries. :)

More than worth it for Harry Potter fans! I went during the Olympics, and yes, it was crowded, but I expected it to be. The kids who are into Potter will go gaga over it.

My daughter (huge HP fan) went with a tour group and couldn't stop talking about it. She took about 1000 photos, so I feel like I got the tour, too. Looked amazing. Two tips: 1) Book early. I know a few people who've had problems getting tickets. They waited until too close to their trip to England and didn't have flexibility regarding their dates. 2) Bring lots of extra money for the gift shop. My daughter spent every pence we sent with her and said she had a hard time deciding what to buy as there was just such an overwhelming selection. (I guess I should add a tip #3 - allot plenty of time for the gift shop!)

We'll be in London on 21 September and am thinking of booking tickets to the Harry Potter Tour. I hope it's not too late, but just have a couple of questions. Looking at the website, there is a bus that leaves central London and goes to the Warner Bros. Studios. How long of a bus ride is this and do they stop along the way? Thanks!

I hadn't heard of the bus from central London, but I do know of the shuttle bus from Watford Junction train station to the studios. Watford Junction is some nearly 20 miles from Euston station, and even further from tourist spots in central London. By 100 mph train it takes 16 to 23 minutes, by bus it would take much longer. The shuttle bus goes from the Watford Junction station, takes just a few minutes and all the reports I have heard have been good - both about the attraction and the shuttle bus.

I had considered the bus, being concerned with trains, meeting the shuttle, etc. In the end, we took the train and shuttle due to the big price difference. It was quite easy to take the train and shuttle, and I'd recommend it. It's a very quick train trip, and the shuttle trip only took 10 minutes due to little traffic.

Thanks, JumpinBug! I have already arranged for the train and shuttle. Easy peasy - now if I could just get the WB website to work for me to order tickets. I've been trying since Friday night and it lets me get as far as viewing my basket to checkout and then "can't display page". I'll probably just give them a call today because I don't want to miss out since we have travel arrangements already. I'm glad your experience there was a good one - hope ours is also.

Cindy, Have you considered clearing your cookies (assuming you haven't already paid) and / or using a different browser? I often find that for purchases a website may be happier with Firefox or IE or Chrome. If one doesn't work, I try the others. It usually works - but not always...

I had to call them due to a problem with not getting the confirmation email. I had a wait a long time for help (5-10 minutes), but then the guy was quick and great.

Tried on my husbands computer and my order went through with no problems. We finally have our WB Harry Potter Tour confirmations! Thank you.
