Hampton Court Palace and a boat ride

Can anyone tell me if Hampton Court Palace is generally crowded on a Sunday or if I should aim to go on a weekday? I have read that costumed characters are only there on weekends, but they are only a novelty to me, I am more concerned with getting a better look at things than the actors. Also, I was thinking of taking the boat back into London. I think for me I will want to get to the palace fast then have a relaxing ride back. Does anyone know how late the boat goes and if the times are different on Sundays? Thanks!

Have a look at page 12 of the official guide to River Tours. That should have your answer. Note that from Richmond and Westminster Bridge it is two different companies on different pages.

Stacey Hampton Court will be more crowded on a Sunday, but how crowded depends on the time of year, From Hampton Court back to central London - Westminster - is about 3 hours. If this is too much then a good compromise is to take an hour trip on the boat to Richmond and from there pick up a tube. Alan
