What does anyone have to say about the Grand Hotel in Copenhagen? Also is the walk from Tivoli to the hotel late at night safe?
I did not stay at the Grand Hotel when I was in Copenhagen, so can't personally comment. However, since you are not getting responses here, have you tried checking other websites for reviews? Here are three: http://goo.gl/LF4f5 http://goo.gl/pq3gn http://goo.gl/0lqDv
I stayed there some time ago. It's virtually next door to Tivoli. Seemed like a safe enough area to me. Roger
I have stayed there several times, but it was all more than 10 years ago. It is was a nice hotel then, but may have changed. It is indeed very close to Tivoli. I would have no hesitation about walking in that area late at night. There are several other hotels close by if you are considering other options.
I'll just mention two hotels in that area (near Tivoli) that we much prefer over the Grand: the Mayfair and Hotel Alexandra.
Thanks, this has been helpful.
Hi Anita, The Grand hotel is part of a hotel chain in Copenhagen that offers a multiple selection of hotels in various categories: http://www.arp-hansen.com/hotels I have personally stayed at both the "71 Nyhavn", "Copenhagen Strand" and "Wakeup Copenhagen". The first 2 hotels are located in a very charming part of the city (at the front of the harbour and next to main shopping and sights area") while "Wakeup" is a kind-of budget traveller's hotel near the train station and Tivoli, recently constructed, simple and inexpensive. Happy travel!
