Is it possible to recharge a Garmin GPS in the cigarette lighter of cars in Ireland?
The lighters are the same as in the US so as long as you have the car changing kit you can.
Don't assume that all cars have a cigarette lighter though. Mine doesn't & my mum's doesn't. I am not in Ireland, but obviously the same brands of cars are over there. Don't do what my aunt did last weekend which is borrow someone's car and not borrow charging her sat nav as she assumed they had a cigarette lighter!
Thanks, at least we have a change of charging the GPS! ;)
Just a question for Laura re: cars not having lighters.
Do you mean it doesn't have the 12V lighter socket at all or just that you don't have the "fob" bit that actually lights the cigarette?
For instance my car doesn't have a lighter but does have a 12V socket has a little lid marked "12V Power supply".
It doesn't have the 12V socket. I have a Micra and my mum has a Fiesta and there is no sign there was ever such a thing in the car.
