I ordered a new Volvo that will be ready in Gothenburg the end of Feb.2012. Included is a round trip ticket and 2-4 days hotel in Gothenburg. I have no desire to drive my new car around so while it is being shipped back I want to get lost for a couple of weeks. I love train travel in Europe but I don't know whether to stay in Scandanavia or take a cheap flight to Spain and get lost there. I have always wanted to explore Scandanavia but is the end of February a bad time to do it? I don't ski. Any Ideas/suggestions would be appreciated.

We bought a new Volvo and picked it up in Gothenburg in June and returned it in December (sabbatical stay). In December there was snow everywhere but the roads were clear. There was very little daylight for exploring IMO. If your airline ticket is free, is there no way you can pick a warmer, lighter month for picking up your car?
