Gordon's Wine Bar

Anyone go to this place? Right near the Embankment underground station. Looks really nice, Rick recommends it in his London video. They have breakfast and a huge wine list. Prices seem reasonable and the atmosphere nice. We plan to go but I wanted to get an advance opinion here. Thanks!

Thanks Pam for the excellent tip about Gordons and the Italian place. My wife and I look forward to visiting both!

Hi Dave,
I was fortunate enough to go to Gordon's Wine Bar last June. The street level entrance is bathrooms and you go down some narrow steep stairs to the actual bar area. I got wine and cheese and sat out in the back open air seating area and later went in to have a glass of port from the cask. Marvelous!! Sitting at the beginning of the cave area enjoying my port was an experience I will always cherish and you can bet next time I'm in London I will be at Gordons again. At Charing Cross you will see a large blue sign at the opposite end from the transportation area that says Brookside and that is the beginning of Villers St. There is a very nice Italian restraunt several doors down called Trattoria Italiana that is very good too. Cheers!! Pam

Love this place. Visit it on nearly every trip to London. My friends live and work in London and we meet here for happy hour. It's so nice to enjoy a few glasses of wine outside, generally you share a table so its a nice way to chat with locals -- and it borders a lovely park as well.

I wouldnt classify it as 'really nice' though. More of a casual meeting spot and it does have great atmosphere. Though bit claustrophobic inside, however much improved since the smoking ban. Didn't know they had breakfast. Thanks for the tip :)
