Good restaurants in Pickering UK, North Yorkshire Moors

On Saturday September 15, my husband and I are meeting up in Pickering with a Whitby native (my friend's sister) who will show us the moors. We're taking the bus to & from Pickering. She'll travel to Pickering from Whitby by car. We'd like to treat our "travel guide" to dinner in Pickering or close to Pickering. Any ideas of good pubs, inns? Thanks,
Betsy
