Stockholm is pretty pricey - like most big cities in Europe.

Try these:
Hotel Bema: www.hotelbema.se
A & Be Hotel: www.abehotel.com

The Rica Hotel Kungsgatan is in the best location, but is pricey unless you get a weekend deal.

Good luck!

We stayed at The Scandic Ariadne. For a four-star hotel, it is surprisingly inexpensive. It is right next to the pier where we boarded the ferry to Helsinki. From the airport, we took the airport bus to the Central Station, got on the subway then walked a few blocks to reach the hotel. I highly recommend this place.

I have been searching online (and checking here) for information on Stockholm, car rental, accommodations, etc. and found that the most reasonable places were already filled for the dates we wanted--at least those inside the city. We looked at small hotels and a few of the bed and breakfast agencies. June is the beginning of high season there, but I didn't expect to find things booked up a month ahead of time in the city, which was probably naive of me. In fact, I had visions of sleeping on an airport bench--although I am sure that the hostels aren't booked up. However, with our departure date approaching at the end of this month, we opted for couchsurfing.com (with local hosts), and we are looking forward to that. Anyhow, I've learned for Sweden, the sooner you book, the better. So good luck!
