Can anyone recommend particularly good deals in Norway for tours, car rentals, hotels. Any packages or national chains we need to look for?
As the other poster alluded to, a Norwegian good deal is an oxymoron. Prices are higher in Norway on everything than they are in the US. Comparatively, however, the best and worst deals are as follows: Best: -Most clothing -Hikes (almost all are free) -Flights (on Norwegian...pretty cheap) Worst: -Buying food out (the quality isn't great and the prices are 2x to 4x as much as the US) -Buying shoes (2x to 3x the price)
-Alcohol (3x to 5x the price)
Thanks, the ideas from Tom and Rick Steve's book are what I was looking for. The idea in Norway is to see everything we want to see, shaving a few KRONER, as we go. We will be pinching Kroners--ha!
