My husband and I will be in Galway for 2 days at the beginning of a trip around the coast of Ireland (South). Does anyone have a recommendation for a 9 hole golf course near Galway? We are average golfers. Thank you!

since you are heading south...you may want to take a look at the Castle Course in Lahinch. I wouldn't say that is really close to Galway. Myself and a friend from college drove down there in the morning- we left at like 5:30AM- to play 18 holes at the Lahinch Golf Course which was an awesome experience. Across the street is the Castle Course. A woman in the reservation office said it was "quieter" than the regular course. We also played 18 holes at the Castle Course. We hooked up with a father and son from Limerick who were both named Tim although 1 pronounced it like Time. The father was a member at Lahinch and said the greens were the same at both courses. If you are going to stop by the Cliffs of Moher, the golf courses are not too far from there. There was a nice restaurant at the golf course that looks over some of the course. I took a photo when we were eating lunch of my view of the course and the sea and I look at it every day as my computer wallpaper at work.
