My husband and I will have 18 days to travel in Ireland this Sept. We would love to spend one of those days playing golf. I know there are hundreds of courses to choose from so we will probably rely on the weather at the time to play wherever we may be. My question: do you need to have an established handicap to play in Ireland? And are rental clubs freely available?

Karen - Some of the better known courses require you have an established handicap. Most courses have rental clubs available. I would suggest using your google machine and look for golf course in some of the areas that you'll be in. I also believe there are some Irish courses on Golfnow.com
