Has anyone stayed at Skei Hotel - Best Western. Do you know if it is possible to rent a car either there or in Balstrand? If not, are there busses that can take you around Jolster Lake?

I stayed at the Hotel Balestrand. I had a rental car and was talking with the owner (who lives part-time in US) and she said there was a place in Balestrand that rented cars and they were all standard shift.

Thank you so much. I have not checked out Hotel Balstrand but will. I appreciate your help. Definately want a car to drive around Jolster Lake.

I will second the other posters opinion about Balestrand. Uni-Marie is fantastic and she will do anything she can for her guests.
In doing my own research I did find there was a car rental in Balestrand. However I believe it is very independent and very expensive. It is certainly not like a local europcar or anything like that (i believe)
