We are taking the train from Dublin and picking up a rental car at the Kerry airport (price much better than picking up in town). I know we can take the train on to Farranfore (near airport) but it requires a walk from train station to the airport. One of us tires easily-15 min walk on flat surface but more than that is difficult. Is it better to take the walk or transfer to a bus in Killarney that takes us direct? thanks

Carol, My wife and I are also taking a train from Dublin to Killarney. I am planning to take the bus from Killarney to Kerry Airport to pickup our rental car on the next day. It is less than 5 euros for the one way trip. The bus station is right next to the train station in Killarney and a 5 minute walk from our hotel. I have not done this before but this will be one of many firsts for me on this trip. John

John, That's probably the best thing for you to do. We've been to Killarney and used both the train and bus easily. I'm just trying to figure out if it would be easier to stay on the train and get off at the next stop (closest to the airport) or change to a bus which would be a 1/2 hr layover plus having to pay for 3 of us. I'd rather just get off at Faranfore if it's a short walk-I'm not familiar with the Kerry Airport and distance from train station. That area is one of my favorite places because of the natural beauty. Carol
