As part of my European travels in May, I will be flying from Venice to London, arriving at 8:00am at Gatwick airport. I then have to catch a flight at London Heathrow at 1:00pm. How difficult will it be to make it between Gatwick and Heathrow in 5 hours? How long does Gatwick customs take to pass through? Does anyone have any advice? Missing my Heathrow flight wouldn't be the end of the world, but it would be very inconvinient.

You can take the Gatwick Express into Victoria station in about 45 minutes and then take the underground from Victoria to Heathrow about the same. However you can also take a shuttle direct from Gatwick to Heathrow which may be better as you dont know how long it will take you to get through Customs. Either way, 5 hours should be plenty to accommodate you although its actually only 3 when you consider the 2 hour window to check in at Heathrow.
