Galway vs Dublin

We're trying to decide which city to visit on our 8 day trip here. We're in Kerry, heading north.
Anyone know anything about cultural activites -- theatre, music -- in Galway? Opinions on which city for 24 hours? Thanks

I would probably pick Galway for 24 hours. I liked the area a lot and you can get a pretty good feel in 24 hours.

Dublin is a city with a lot more to do, you should go there when you have at least a few days.

Galway, definitely. The Druid Theater in Galway puts on some excellent productions. Don't know when your trip is, but from the middle to end of July, the Galway Arts Festival will take place. Loads of theater, dance and performance art at venues all over the city as well as on the streets.

Year round you will find plenty of live music from modern to traditional at pubs and clubs all over Galway. There is more than enough going on in Galway to keep you occupied for 24 hours, and if you stay longer than 24 hours, it still makes a great base city to stay in if you are interested in exploring nearby attractions like the Aran Islands, Cliffs of Moher, Connemara or The Burren.

Galway is pretty small so you may want to go there and still have the chance to go off to see The Cliffs of Moher and some of the other places like the other post mentioned.

Galway is closer to Kerry and easier to navigate in a more limited time.
