can anyone recommend the best (cheapest) way to get to the train station from the airport in galway and from the train station to the airport in dublin? i have no idea how far apart they are.

Dublin has two train stations. The train from Galway to Dublin arrives at Hueston station. The Airlink bus #748 goes directly between Hueston and the airport.

Galway Airport is approx. four miles outside the city.I do not "Think" there is regular bus service but you could e-mail the airport and find out. Taxi should not be too expensive on that distance.
