Hi,
Can anyone tell me if Glastonbury is accessible by bus from Salisbury? I'm trying to stay as close to the main train line as we are going to Penzance but would like to get a day in at Glastonbury. :-)
I Googled "Salisbury-Glastonbury bus". A quick look didn't show anything promising. Here's how the Glastonbury tourist folks detail the how-to-get-there options. Looks to me that it's probably easier to get to from London than Salisbury, and just possibly might be done in a single day fro there.
If you really want to do this, I would suggest train from Salisbury to Bath, and then bus from Bath to Glastonbury, changing at Wells. natively, train from Salisbury to Bristol and then bus from Bristol to Glastonbury. Some journeys on that route would also require a change of bus at Wells. The best option will depend on the day of the week and time. Train times are at www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk/Default.aspx Bus times are at www.firstgroup.com/ukbus/southwest/bristol/home/index.php This is likely to be quite a long journey, and personally I don't think Glastonbury is worth it. You could combine it with visits to Bath and Wells, where there is much more to see.
Thank you so much. I think this just may be too much work. Peace Bonnie :-)
