Can anyone suggest a destination for a few hours excursion from Gatwick to open country walking (a couple of hours) from Gatwick? Via public transport?

Kirsten Balcombe Station is around 30 minutes from Gatwick on the Brighton line. If you google 'walks from Balcombe Station' you will throw up various natives but here is one which gives an overview of the area. http://www.walkingclub.org.uk/book_3/walk_22/index.shtml Alan
