What is the best way to travel to this castle from Copenhagen? I do not wish to see the Hamlet castle, though. Approximately how long will the round trip and tour of castle take?We will be on cruise schedule.

Take the S train, Line E from the central station to Hillerod. It's about a 40 minute ride. The castle is about a 15-20 minute walk from the Hillerod station. You can also take a local bus or a taxi. You do a self-guided tour at your own pace...probably about 2 hours is good. Very frequent train schedules, maybe 4 or 5 an hour. Good choice....my 2nd favorite place to visit(after Tivoli).

We took the same route Tim talks about - very easy. When we got off the train, we walked to it. Frederiksborg Castle is really worth a visit!
