Found cheap tix to Dublin questions

Hello! We're a family of four (two kids, 6 and 9) and would like to go to Dublin on Nov 2-6th. We've never been there (we just moved to Europe). Do you have any recommendations of things we must do that are somewhat child friendly? How about places to stay (we don't need luxury. . .but clean, safe, and comfy would be nice)? Any helpful tips while we're there? Thanks- Barbara

We were there with a big bunch of kids last year, but it was in the summer, so we spent some time every day in a park. When we were there, the natural history museum was closed, but it's back open now, and it's FREE. Our kids also liked Dublinia, which is a Viking museum. If the weather's okay, there's a good playground in St. Stephen's Green. As far as places to stay, it's difficult to find places that can accommodate a family of 4. We stayed at Brookman Townhomes, which are in a residential neighborhood that's just a 10 minute bus ride from city centre. Their website is www.brookman.ie. Nice townhomes, definitely not luxurious, but clean, safe, and comfy. You can get a 2 or 3 bedroom place there, and it's nice to have your own kitchen and washer and dryer. Shops and restaurants are a short walk. The manager there is very helpful.

One more suggestion: you can get a family daily bus pass for 10 euro. Pick one up either at the Dublin Bus window in the airport, or any shop, like Spar. You can ride the buses as much as you want for a day with those, and you don't have to dig for change when you get on.
