My husband and I would like to go to a soccer game (I know, football) while we are in London. We are planning to purchase the tickets from the official site of whatever team we decide we want to see. This looks like it will cost about $160 for both of us to go. Is there any way to go to a game for cheaper than that? We want to go on Saturday May 4th of this year, and we care less about the teams than the price - we just want to experience the fun of a London football game!
For the big teams like Arsenal and Chelsea it's difficult to purchase tickets from the official sites unless you are registered "member" of the club. For the smaller clubs it's easier. In any event Arsenal and Chelsea are both away that weekend. Best bet is West Ham or Fulham. Not to be a Debbie Downer... but it will be the tail end of the season neither team have much to play for so lower your expectations a bit in terms of atmosphere at the stadium;)
Maybe I am reading the schedule wrong, but aren't QPR playing Arsenal at Loftus Road on May 4th? That would be a great match, I think - QPR will likely be getting relegated, and Arsenal might still be in the top 4 at that point!
Correct. My bad, even though they are in a different league when I saw "rangers" in the schedule my brain linked it the Glasgow Rangers. QPR v Arsenal would definitely be the match to see. Matches involving a team close to relegation are often very dramatic. The QPR site is only selling tickets to it's members. Viagogo has tickets available: http://tinyurl.com/csgorem
Thanks everyone for your feedback! I just bought tickets to the Crystal Palace/Peterborough game. It was definitely the most in our price range. Thanks for your help!
